Dive Locker

Located on the BIOS waterfront, the Dive Locker provides all of the resources required for safe, educational, and successful SCUBA diving and snorkeling activities, including:

  • shower facilities;
  • secure gear storage;
  • 60 and 80 cu-ft dive tanks;
  • assorted weights;
  • compressed air tank fill;
  • outdoor gear rinse and soak;
  • gear drying racks

BIOS employs a full-time Dive Safety Officer (DSO) and is a member of the American Academy of Underwater Sciences (AAUS). The DSO offers multiple diving certification courses throughout the year, ranging from Open Water to advanced certifications, such as Nitrox, Rescue Diver, Advanced Open Water, and AAUS-certified Diver. Students are strongly encouraged to get basic SCUBA certification prior to coming to BIOS, especially if they are enrolled in the Coral Reef Ecology (CRE) course.
